Preserving Rider's Wildlife

Rider University sits on a 280 acre parcel of land in Lawrenceville New Jersey.  The campus surrounds many different ecosystems, which can often be sensitive to human interaction.

It has become rather evident that in order to keep Rider's campus as diverse and beautiful as it has always been, some steps needed to be taken by the university, which have put Rider on the Green list for universities since 2009.

This page will highlight resources that help preserve Rider's ecosystems and wildlife for future generations.

Rider's Office of Sustainability

This is an organization within Rider University dedicated to educating students and faculty alike, about what can be done to help the environment.  They have a great website with many great resources

Viewing Wildlife

Viewing wildlife can be a fun and exciting hobby, but it is important to make sure both you and the animals you're watching remain safe in the process.  The National Park Service has put together a guide to safely watching wildlife, that will help protect both you and the animals
